About the Author
James Tarr is a Contributing Editor for Handguns and Rifle Shooter magazines, and a regular contributor to Guns & Ammo and Shotgun News. He bought his first Colt, a 1911, 20 years ago, and used it to compete at USPSA matches. He became hooked on Colts and competitive shooting. Twenty years later, he continues to actively compete in practical shooting, and still owns that same Colt 1911, which he plans to pass down to his children.
