The Gun Digest Book of Personal Protection & Home Defense

This book had some pretty good information for the person that just started researching personal protection. Overall I believe the basics of concealed carry, home defense, and malfunction clearing were covered. The only thing that really turned me off to this book is that yet again, there is another author that took every opportunity to tout the praises of the 1911 and the .45 round. We get it, the 1911 is great and the .45 is great. The obvious opinion of the author is that polymer guns are pretty much unreliable garbage. So now I'll use this as my sounding board: I would rahter have 30 rounds(2 mags) of 10mm in my GLOCK 20 than use your 1911 with 16 rounds (2 mags) of .45 ACP.
