From The Author
Much has been written and speculated about the April 11, 1986 “FBI Miami Shootout.” In five minutes, two bank robbers and two FBI Agents were dead. Five other agents were wounded, three critically wounded, including myself.
This incident would change FBI and law enforcement training, tactics and weaponry forever. My name is Ed Mireles, and this is my story of survival and the fight to save the lives of my fellow agents on that fateful day.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in law enforcement or defensive shooting. It was not written by a professional writer, but by a man who was there. Mireles is a perfect example of the humble hero. The events of this incident have been covered in detail from other sources, but this is the first hand perspective. You won’t be disappointed.
Randy Crawford –
This book is great coverage of an important event in the history of American firearms and law enforcement tactics. It’s a real page-turner, and once you get into the plot development you will see it’s impossible to put down until you get to the last page!

Two mad-dog serial killers— bank robbers reduced to utter desperation. Eight FBI agents in hot pursuit— but hamstrung by twists of fate and administrative micromanagement. Due to factors no pulp fiction writer could have imagined, this real-world FBI team found itself up against a monumental wall of hot lead that turned the hunters into the hunted. Devastating wounds, fatalities, high drama, and dizzying adrenaline levels came into play. But Ed Mireles triumphed with grit and determination. This book reveals how he did it.
