Excellent book covering more than the basics. I have had the pleasure of taking several classes with Tom and they are NOT a “pay and get a certificate” event. You can fail the course. Tom brings the real gritty world to the classroom and range. He is not a “When I was a ninja delta operator doing super secret things in a far away land” type concealed carry instructor. And he has 60 plus students that won the fight to his credit.
Read the book. Take a few days to do so. Make notes, highlight critical points, add some questions and schedule a class yourself.
